When you purchase a cricket bat from Meulemans, you can rest assured that your bat will be covered during the warranty period should something go wrong. Bats sold by Meuleman’s have a 12 month manufacturers warranty. The Cricket bat warranty is a goodwill agreement offered by all bat manufacturers to repair or replace a bat that has suffered damage believed not to be the fault of the customer. All warranty decisions are at the discretion of the manufacturer.
Bats with broken handles, cracks and other minor problems that occur within the time and scope of the manufacturer warranty will be sent back to the manufacturer for repair. It takes an average of 10 working days to assess and/or repair the problem in conjunction with manufacturer. If the bat is not deemed to be fixable to a reasonable standard then it may be replaced at the manufacturers discretion. It is important to note that a replacement handle will not effect the performance of a bat.
The warranty does not cover:
• Yorker damage to the toe and other cracks to the toe due to tapping/sliding the bat.
• Surface damage to the face, edge or toe that occurs due to a lack of preparation (knocking-in) or inaccurate play.
• Damage due to moisture or extreme heat, or damage that occurs because of improper use.
• Damage resulting from the use of non-leather or composite balls, including bowling machine balls.
Please note – the excessive use of bowling machine balls can and may void your warranty.
It’s important to note that willow is a natural material and the bat may develop surface cracks in varying degrees during use. The application of Extratec may help prevent some of these cracks. Meuleman’s also highly recommends the oiling of cricket bats post season to prevent the willow from drying out.
Why should I purchase my bat in Australia?
Many of the big brand cricket bats are manufactured overseas by companies with separate divisions throughout the world. Unfortunately, Australian agencies do not honour warranties for bats of the same brand that were purchased overseas.
When cricket bats are purchased overseas, warranties become complicated. If you purchase a bat from an overseas retailer and it comes with a warranty (although many don’t), you will have to post the bat back to the overseas country from which it was purchased at your own expense. This can be a very lengthy process.
With Meulemans, you have nothing to fear. Cricket bats purchased at Meulemans stores or through our online store are covered by Australian warranties for complete peace of mind.
Change of Mind Return
Australian Consumer Law states that the retailer is not required to provide a refund or replacement if you simply change your mind. Meulemans Cricket Centre will exchange or provide store credit for items that are returned in saleable condition within 30 days of purchase date.
Warranty Return
Meulemans will always endeavour to process warranty returns within a reasonable time frame and in accordance with ACCC Consumer Guarantees. You are entitled to return a product if you believe that there is a problem. You are generally responsible for returning the product if it can be posted or easily returned.
If the problem is a minor fault, we will repair the item within a reasonable time.
You can ask for a replacement or refund if the problem with the product is major.
Replaced products must be of an identical type to the product originally supplied. Refunds will be the same amount you have already paid, provided in the same form as your original payment.
Meulemans may take into account how much time has passed since you bought the product considering the following factors:
• type of product
• how a consumer is likely to use the product
• the length of time for which it is reasonable for the product to be used
• the amount of use it could reasonably be expected to tolerate before the failure becomes noticeable.
What is a major problem?
A product or good has a major problem when:
• it has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it
• it is unsafe
• it is significantly different from the sample or description
• it doesn’t do what the business said it would, or what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed.
